H I S T O R Y

Kara was born to Zor-El and Alura, as the middle cousin of the House of El, having one older cousin, Dom-El, and would eventually have on younger cousin, Kal-El. She was an average teenage girl who half worshiped the ground her father walked on. He was her hero, and she blindly followed whatever he said. She attended school, had fun, ditched class with boys, and liked to enjoy her youth. She was myschevious, sneaky, and fun loving.

In 1986 she followed her Aunt Lara to Earth to see the Kent Farm, and the place the unborn Kal-El would be raised if Krypton was destroyed in the war. It was here she chose the name for Kal-El, and even hid a picture of Lara within the Kent farm, so Kal-El would have something from her. As it turns out, Zor-El had followed them to Earth. She witnessed her father say that Lara would belong to him, and if she refused, he'd claim her through science. Kara's pedistal for her father shattered, but her father altered her memory using a Crystal of El, and the whole incident was forgotten.

She returned to Earth thinking that Zor-El was still a wonderful person, and that her fights with her uncle Jor-El were just misunderstandings, because their family was just disfunctional. They had secrets and problems that she just never spoke of. When Kal-El was born, Kara became the main babysitter for the baby. She as made references to Kal-El being cute, chubby, and would laugh when you tickeled his feet. She would be around when Lara would sing for him.

Augo was a boy she had a 'thing' with, or at least she thought she did. As it turns out, he worked for Zor-El, thinking that Zor-El worked for Zod, which he half did. They were on their way to school when Augo decided that they should ditch, and that he had a bad feeling about going to class. Kara ignored him, saying she couldn't ditch again, and then headed inside, only to be caught in an exlposion. Augo managed to ger her out, and she ran for home, worried about the attacks from Zod. She ran right into her father having a private conversation with Aethyr and Nam-Ek, who worked for Zod. He knew all about the attacks on Kandor, and this scared her.

When he noticed her, he explained he was doing it all for Rao's prophesy, and that he knew of the creation of Brainiac, Zod's war, and Krypton's end. Zor-El would go to Earth and be a God among Men. Augo then arrived, explaining he was on Zor-El's side, and that Kara would be safe. She then ran, and hid, but was found by the two men and was taken and put somewhere safe.

Augo staid with Kara, who tried to convince her that she would also become a God on Earth, and help rule. She tricked him into believing she was taking her father's side, then locked him in a chamber and sent him to the core of the planet. She then went to the holographic communicator and contacted Lara, telling her about Zor-El's plans. Zor-El came in and tried to stop Kara, who pushed him onto the crystals, stabbing his back. Zor-El then pretended to be sincere, but pulled out a Crystal of El and wiped Kara's memory once again.

Kara woke to her father taking her to the ship that would send her to Earth. He gave her a blue crystal, a Crystal of El that would contain information on what to do when she found Kal-El. Believing that she was to save Krypton on Earth, Kara said goodbye to her father, and entered the ship, slipping into a state of suspended animation. While in this ship, it fed simulations and knowledge on how to deal with siutations on Earth so she would be more prepared when she got there.

In 1989 her ship crashed into Earth during the meteor shower, where it became stuck in Smallville Reservoir, by Reeves Damn, and Kara remained in Suspended Animation for 18 years. When she was released, she saved Lex Luthor from drowning him the damn, before flying away and never lett him know who she was.

During Clark's battle with Bizzaro, the damn was destroyed, and Kara was finally released. Believing that her cousin was still a child on Earth, she began the search for him. Kara didn't really try to hide her powers as she tried to find Kal-El. With an image of him as a baby inside her Crystal, she would go to schools and look through kids, trying to find him.

Her ship was out in the open and she couldn't get near to it due to Kryptonite. At the time, she had no idea what it was. When Lois and Clark found her ship, she knocked Lois out for getting to close, broke her cell phone which held pictures, and then told Clark to take hsi girlfriend and never come back.

She would meet Clark again later while searching for, unknown to her, a younger version of him. When Clark discovered that Kara was for Krypton, Kara, with a frown on her face, explained what she was doing here. The cousins were reunited, and an explination was given. She was heart broken about Krypton, about her life being wated in a ship, and about how she failed. Kara would never see her family or friends again, and it crushed her.

It wasn't really easy for her to fit in, and she didn't really like being around humans at first. But her opinion started to change. After incidents with finding her ship, entering and winning a Beauty Contest, kicking meteor freak ass, getting arrested, getting captured, tortured and almost killed, plus crushing on Jimmy Olsen, Kara learned more and more about life on Earth.

It was when Zor-El managed to return to Earth via Kara's Crystal, and Lara came with him that things went down hill. Kara believed her father was a hero, and nearly helped him destroy the world. When she realized what he had down, she turned against him, and almost died from it. Clark smashed the crystal that kept their parents there, and when Kara came too, she was in Detroit, and had no idea who she was, and no powers.

She found herself in a diner, and was taken in by the staff there. They called her Linda, and she was given a job and a place to sleep. Eventually she was found by Lex, who she didn't recognize. Kara thought the two bonded, and when he offered to help her get her memories back, she agreed. But not before one of the diner works who had become obsessed with Kara nearly killed them all.

Back in Smallville, she lived with Clark for a while after being reintroduced to her life. But something was off. She still had no memories, and didn't understand how her life had no depth to it. No doctors appointments, no baby pictures, nothing. She knew Clark, his girlfriend Lana, and maybe even Chloe were keeping something from her, and she grew not trust them. Instead she went to Lex, fully trusting him and moving to the mansion.

When Clark got into trouble, and was captured and held in a kryptonite cage, Chloe had to gain Kara's trust. She stopped Kara from getting Lex's surgery, which was really way for him to see her memories of her past and find out what she was. Chloe took her to the Fortress, and Jor-El restored her memories and powers in time to save Clark.

When Brainiac appeared and infected Lana to force Kara to go with him somewhere, she surrendered to save Lana. Brainiac took Kara back into time, to Krypton, before it exploded. He needed her to get back ther to kill the baby Kal-El. To Kara's surprise, Clark showed up while they were there. She tried to help him defeat Brainiac, but was sent to the Phantom Zone instead, while the machine lived her life for a while.

In the zone she quickly learned how to survive without her powers. She became a bit more savage there, and her time there has haunted her. She knew how to get out, but Kara wasn't going to risk letting the phantoms through the same way Clark had. But when Clark and Lois showed up, Kara agreed that Lois didn't belong there. She had to go back. So while Clark defended the gate, Kara brought Lois to the portal out and sent her through. One of the Phantoms got by Clark, and Kara, and managed to escape.

Kara became trapped under a cave wall just as Chloe used her Brainiac given powers to open another way to pull Clark out. She was ready to sacrifice her life. In her opinion, Clark was the hero, and it was her job to protect him, not the other way around. In the end, Clark managed to pull her out, and the two of them ended up back on Earth.

She helped Clark defeat the Phantom that had escaped the Zone, Zod's wife, before she departed. While in the Zone she had heard that Kandor might have surivived the explosion on Krypton. Knowing her place was no on Earth, Kara said goodbye to Clark and took off to look for the rest of their people.

A B I L I T I E S

Kryptonian Phyisology: Supergirl's cellular structure is more dense, resiliant and biologically more effective than human tissue. Strangely enough, she does not seem to possess superhuman strength levels despite her enhanced cellular ability. Without constant exposure to solar energy, her strength seems on par for a human of her height and weight who engages in regular physical activity. She does possess several organs whose functions are not yet disclosed or understood but are believed to be part of and perhaps even the source of his biomatrix force field and reclaimation aura. Supergirl has manifested a wide range of metahuman abilities and is considered to be one of the most powerful metahumans alive. Supergirl's body also stores energy actively within her bio-cellular matrix as an energy pattern that is linked to her body's electromagnetic field. This energy powers most of Supergirl's electromagnetic capabilities such as flight and heat vision. It also supplements her physical strength by a factor of 12,000 times or so. [manifested]

Solar Energy Absorption: Technically, this is the main source of Supergirl's powers. Because Supergirl's powers are greatly due to exposure to Earth's yellow sun, her powers have been affected by extreme absorptions of solar power, whether voluntary or involuntary. However, Supergirl has used this to her advantage in battle in many instances, and to her detriment at certain times. [manifested]

Superhuman Strength: While the exact magnitude of Supergirl's strength is unknown, it is generally accepted that her strength easily surpasses the capacity to lift 100 tons, but how much more is not known exactly. This is because Supergirl's strength, like her other powers, has fluctuated over time. Supergirl has also shown the ability to become even stronger when "supercharged". [manifested]

Invulnerability: Supergirl's body is nigh-invulnerable (Has survived high yield nuclear explosions). In addition, her immune system protects her from toxins and diseases. The most common explanations for her invulnerability are Supergirl having a super-dense molecular structure and/or a supercharged bioelectric "aura" which acts as an invisible "force field" around her body within a few millimeters from her skin, and presumably within her body as well. The proximity of this field to her skin means that loose clothes, for example, may be burned off of her, while cloth that is close to her body is protected by the "aura;" This phenomenon is sometimes cited as Supergirl's reason for wearing a skin-tight bodysuit. It is sometimes implied that she can unconsciously extend this field to an undetermined extent to protect a greater area, allowing her to carry huge objects within the Earth's atmosphere and without gravity or inertia tearing them apart around her human-sized hands. [manifested]

Superhuman Stamina: Ability to maintain continuous strenuous physical action for an undefined period. Theoretically, Supergirl has unlimited stamina, nourishment coming from the solar energy her cells process; she does, however, have the psychological need to eat and drink just as humans do, though she receives the majority of her nourishment from the Sun. She does require sleep on occasion so she can dream. She can also hold her breath for an undefined duration. [manifested]

Flight: Which allows her to maneuver precisely in any direction, as well as hover. The mechanism by which she flies is unknown, but some suggestions have been a field of energy allowing unconscious manipulation of gravity or defract/reflect of gravity due to unidentified Kryptonian organs affected by a yellow sun, or psionic manipulation of a personal anti-gravitational aura, which is also caused by her Kryptonian cells and a yellow sun. Supergirl has been able to fly to the moon in under two minutes. [manifested]

Superhuman Speed: The ability to move at an incredible speed, like the Flash. This includes running, but flying is less strenuous and more versatile. Her top speed seems to be just under the speed of light. Recently, it has been established that she is not as fast as the current incarnation of the Flash, Wally West, who can exceed the speed of light and can time travel under her own power. Supergirl also possesses superhuman reflexes and the ability to move at incredible speeds by sheer force of will. She can also perform complex actions like assembling objects at a rate hundreds of times faster than a normal human. [manifested]

Enhanced Senses: Supergirl posesses greatly enhanced senses.

Telescopic Vision: The ability to "zoom in" to see something at a great distance, without violating the laws of physics. The total telescopic ability is unprecedented, but limited to some extent. [manifested]

X-Ray Vision: The ability to see through anything except lead. She can see things behind a wall as if the wall were not there, or can "peel back" layer after layer of matter in her mind. Opponents sometimes used lead-lined constructs in an attempt to hide things from Supergirl. Kara Zor-El is able to focus her vision past layers of matter, literally seeing "through" them -- possibly perceiving x-rays, cosmic rays or other forms of energy invisible to normal human vision which pass through Earth's atmosphere (and solid objects) after emission from stars. Since it is passive, this ability would not generate harmful radiation in the same manner as a focused projection of hard X-rays. [manifested]

Microscopic Vision: The ability to see extremely small objects and images down to the atomic level (normal optical microscopes can only see objects down to the size of chromosomes). [undiscovered]

Infrared Vision: she can see in total darkness [manifested]

Electro-magnetic Spectrum Vision: can see well into most of the EM Spectrum. She can see and identify radio/television and any and all broadcast/transmitted frequencies, allowing her to avoid detection through radar or satellite monitoring methods. Supergirl can see the paranormal aura that every living thing generates. This ability is apparently one of the main reasons that Supergirl is a vegetarian, as she can see the passing of the "soul" at death. [undiscovered]

Heat Vision: The ability to fire beams of intense heat at a target by looking at it with the conscious act of activating this power. Visually, the power is typically depicted as two beams of red light firing from her eyes. These beams can be made invisible, allowing Supergirl to work undetected. The maximum temperature of her heat vision is said to be around that of a nuclear detonation. The area of effect can be consciously determined by Supergirl, down to the microscopic level. [manifested]

Superhuman Hearing: The ability to hear any sound at any volume or pitch. The only Earth creature who can detect sounds at the frequency she can is a blue whale (0.01-200,000 Hz). She has shown enough control to block out ambient sounds to focus on a specific source/frequency. Supergirl was able to detect disturbances in the frequency the human brain operates. [manifested]

Super Voice: Supergirl is a master ventriloquist. She is also a brilliant mimic, able to impersonate human voices or animal sounds. [undiscovered]

Super Breath: The ability to create hurricane force winds by blowing, and to chill her breath in order to freeze a target (this latter ability has also been called "freeze breath" and "arctic breath"). Supergirl can also breathe in large amounts of air, an ability used when dealing with and disposing things like clouds of poison gas. [manifested]

Super Intelligence: Supergirl has shown enhanced intelligence and computational abilities; her mind works sharply and with extreme speed. Her analytical powers are impressive — she is able to use her senses to read information directly from machines (and, with careful useage of her heat vision, she can even reprogram machines). [manifested, to a point]

R E F L E C T I O N

Kara stands around 5'7 in height. Her hair is long, blonde, and never seems to grow, which is good, because there aren't any blades on the earth that can cut it. Her eyes are a bright, clear blue, which always seem to be cheerful. She's got a muscular, yet slim body.

Kara wears just about whatever she feels like wearing, though she's never seen in colours outside of red, blue, white, and black. She likes tank tops, jean skirts, jeans, blouses, dress pants, and her big red boots. She always, always is wearing her silver cuff bracelet with the House of El symbol on it, and a blue and red necklace with the same symbol. She has told Clark that she will think of him, and keep him close to her heart with it while she is gone from her last remaining family member.
